I’m psyched for this year’s Game Developers Conference, not because I’m going for The Economist, not because I know what the heck is being presented — seriously, I’ve had a sticky note on my desk for weeks that says, “Figure out what you’re writing/doing at GDC!” — but because I don’t have to travel to get there. In past years I’ve flown across the country. Now all I have to do is sit my ass on a bus for twenty minutes and, voilĂ , Moscone Center. Have I mentioned how much I love living in San Francisco?

Now to the important question: who wants to dork out over a cup of coffee? I’m sure I’ll run into lots of people at the event (even if I have to press my face to their chests to read their name tags) but it’s always nice to get heads up from friends. It’s also always nice to put faces to names, and real human bodies to an endless list of internet contacts. So go on, show yourselves! And then let’s eat burritos together. Wait, did I say coffee before? Yeah, I meant burritos.

    Score on The Economist gig!

Also, I love how you’re turning into a San Franciscan and telling people to get burritos with you! What’s your fav local joint?

Also, I just realized that I think your blog time is set to Eastern Time. Pacific Time FTW!

The Economist, covering GDC! Will wonders never cease?

I’d love to meet up. I’m not actually going to the show this year (first time in eight years) but I’m local so I’m sure I can swing by. I might also manage to get to the Expo one day…
