The changes continue in my writing schedule. After a few months with About.com, I’ve decided to resign as the DS guide, which means someone else will be taking over DS.about.com. If you head over to the site now, you’ll see some new articles of mine on using the DS and the DS games of 2008, which I haven’t mentioned here yet.

While I think About does great things for people searching for general info on a wide range of topics, the introductory tone of the DS site wasn’t right for me. As you well know, Heroine Sheik readers, I’m prone to analysis and judgement. Providing objective technical info makes me itchy.

The last two DS review copies I received — Guitar Hero: On Tour and Guitar Hero: Decades — I didn’t get a chance to review for About, so I thought I’d comment on them here. First, I have to say I’ve been spoiled by Rock Band 2. In comparison to console music games, it’s hard to get excited about the selection of songs on Guitar Hero’s portable titles. Also, the wrist pain that comes with holding the DS and the Guitar Hero peripheral makes the game almost crippling — which is never fun. No one should have to endure physical pain to rock out.

I tested it as well and I agree that it is near impossible to find the right position that is comfortable. Either you break your wrist or your neck.
