Well, I’m back, Heroine Sheik readers, no thanks to surgery, an unrelated medical mishap, or the general holiday season. As you may have noticed though, things are not entirely as they were. The Village Voice, which has been sponsoring the site since May of 2007, has decided to hand it back to yours truly. Tough economic times are, well, tough, but we gamers know how to bounce back — and then attack. Plus, now that Heroine Sheik is once again in the hands of my web developer/bedmate Scott, you should be seeing improvements around here, including bye bye to bugs that have been bothering me, if not you, for over a year. Hooray for things working!

Heroine Sheik, as brought to you by The Village Voice, isn’t the only thing that’s come to an end. My cybersex matchmaking site Beautiful Stranger was officially shut down today, on the grounds of being too “adult.” Thanks again for that one, Ning. I’m still working on getting a new version up and running, possibly as a sub-site of Heroine Sheik, but we’ll see to what extent my good intentions and my pragmatic time commitment decide to be buddies.

But that’s not all. The Clickable Clit, my cybersex blogging column for SFWeekly.com, ended last week. That one at least was a joint decision, since the pieces weren’t attracting as much interest as my either and I had hoped. Now that The Clickable Clit is done, I’ll most likely stop posting over at Cybersexy — unless, of course, some new, financially viable project comes my way that requires me to continue blabbing the details of my online sex life. I’m already mulling over the idea of publishing cybersex transcripts as print erotica. Is it a brilliant concept, or just an excuse for me to keep on sleeping with Dr. S. during work hours? Only time will tell…

Oh, and I’m no longer a daily blogger over at Heartless Doll. You can still read my stuff there in the form of weekly features and lists, but unfortunately you’ll have to say goodbye to my two or three daily posts of snarky, girly news. That one was entirely my decision, since I feel like blogging under pressure brings out the worst in me. I didn’t mean blogging here. Shh, shh Heroine Sheik, it’s alright.

Anyways, Happy New Year’s readers. Far from being bummed about all these endings, I’m thrilled to finally have some breathing room for new beginnings. Does that sound cheesy? Probably. But heck, it’s the holidays, and what are they for if not venting emotions we find awkward the rest of the year. So huzzah to all!

    Hey Bonnie,
majorly bummer for you about all the changes… but on the other hand there’s nothing quite like being in charge of your own writing and schedule.

Good luck with it all and I’ll still be a regular reader of HS!

We’re not going anywhere, Bonnie. You keep posting, we’ll keep reading. :)

Thanks for the support, guys! Heroine Sheik definitely isn’t going anywhere. As for me, I really am happy to have some things cleared off my plate. I can get super stressed/take on too much work, so it’s a nice excuse to chill out, enjoy life, and play more games!
