Seriously, I have an extra. Who wants it?

The contest parameters are this: come up with somewhere it would be really badass, but pretty unlikely, to run around parcour style: somewhere famous, somewhere architecturally bizarre. Bonus points for links to photos. I could make up some excuse for how this contest relates to sex and gender, but really I just like interesting spaces. The winner, needless to say, will be mailed a new, sealed copy of Mirror’s Edge for the PS3. If you’re wondering, it’s an unopened review copy (I’m a 360 kind of gal myself). U.S. addresses only, pretty please.

Also, a heads up: this week at Heroine Sheik is likely to be somewhat sporadic. I’m headed in for some minor surgery tomorrow — apparently my nose is no good for breathing, and that’s something I enjoy doing — so I’m be doped up until Thursday at least. Expect Prince of Persia commentary, however, as soon I’m human.

I don’t see my post, but the site keeps saying that I posted it. :/

    Anyway, I choice Angkor Wat

Not only do you have to traverse a dense and detailed temple, but it’s also crumbling, and there’s lots of trees and plants breaking through the structure to swing around.

Aha! That was a test! Cool okay so to reproduce my original comment:

Good luck with the surgery, Bonnie!

    I can’t enter since i’m outside the US but here’s my non-entry:

She watched as he removed his tight-fitting jumper and tied it around his waist, revealing the well-toned and tanned skin beneath. Despite the distance between them she swore she saw the brazen intent in his eyes as he met her gaze. Almost without pause he was off – scaling the the lower wall before hauling his body onto a shallow ledge, muscles rippling and flowing like a silk cloth in a breeze. He did not stop to look for her or breath as his hunger drove him onward, upward to his goal and his reward.
One leap later and his large, sure hands firmly gripped a vertical outcropping that ran up the side of the building and with a great effort he managed to scale that expanse before gracefully leaping to the balcony below. Now, however, he was stopped; eyes scanning the smooth impasse of the wall that stood between the two of them. She let the corner of her mouth quirk slightly but no smile broke the glass reflection of her angelic countenance while she regarded his vain attempts to reach her, to claim her. His fists clenched unconsciously as his chest heaved; shortness of breath catching up with him, and his head shook ever so slowly. He was beaten – no feat of strength, guile or agility could buy his further passage.
Without warning, she stood and his eyes locked onto her flowing curves: passionate thoughts smoking behind those grey mirrors. As she stepped forward she murmured, just loud enough for him to hear, “Catch”. He lept and she felt his body connect with her own, cushioning her fall briefly before they landed roughly on the floor of the balcony where she sought his eyes – they were filled with concern and confusion but not for long….

It was based on this picture:

Thought it might add to cheer you up as I don’t normally read or write stuff like this so it’s not very good and relies on my preconceptions of this type of writing – i’ll probably regret posting it :/ It’s basically a modified Rapunzel story…. which you could argue is a good origin for some sex stereotype/archetypal stories. Also by adding the story it relates to sex and gender…. ;)
