June 3rd, 2008

My apologies for being somewhat M.I.A. around here over the last few days. As of Thursday I’ve been back in the good old U.S. of A. That’s meant an endless round of unpacking, time difference adjustment, and general culture shock. Where are all the mopeds? Why are the keys here so small? And everybody around me speaks English. What the heck is up with that?

I must say I’m sad to be leaving behind my sunny Riviera (a small, beautifully blue smidgen of which you can see above) as well as the wonderful and incredibly international group of friends I’ve made over the last eight months in the land of cheese. At the same time, there are exciting plans in my near future. I’ll only be touching ground here in Philly for a few weeks before packing up again and moving out to San Fran. Tech, queer pride, and burritos, here I come!

Remember, if you’re interested in photos from my various European adventures–including overnight stays chez le Marquis de Sade and visits to 88-year-old Surrealist writers–feel free to partake in some harmless stalking.

    mmm, burritos.

yes, bonnie, yes, come to the one city that’s way over packed with gaming journalism, and headquarters to Nintendo and Capcom D:

Dude, way over packed with games journalism also means it’s the one spot in the country where it’s possible to find a real job as a games journalist. Other place, they just look at you and say, you write about what for a living?

  3. Darkpen Says:

    heheh, too true.

  4. Bonnie Ruberg Says:

Out of curiosity, are you also out in San Fran working in games journalism?

  5. Darkpen Says:

I’m in the san francisco area, but no, I don’t work in games journalism D:

Whenever I see an opportunity for an internship, I end up procrastinating and not applying D:

    ha-ha :(

YAY! If this weather persists in Seattle, I might have to join you in San Fran. :)

  7. Bonnie Ruberg Says:

I’ll have to give you a first hand update on the weather out there. I know it’s supposed to be foggy and icky but every time I’ve been it’s been just lovely :).

It’s a bit chilly at night (definitely jacket weather; possibly w/ a hat), but during the day it’s quite gorgeous. The sky has been blue every moring, and my weather widget reports highs in the mid-to-low 70s every day this week. Not too hot; not too cool.

    So, yes. Move here. ^_^
