Sure, Guitar Hero Encore: Rock the 80’s may be occupying all of your ax jamming attention this week (ax jamming? Did I just write ax jamming?), but don’t forget to look forward with rocker-ly glee to the release of Guitar Hero III–not just because it’s sure to be full of more songs that make you feel like an angsty teenage boy rebelling against the world from inside your garage, but because it involves strippers. More specifically, Joystiq reports that Neversoft used mocap on real-life exotic dancers for the NPC go-go dancers who will apparently be doing their thing in the background when you play at a strip club venue. Who plays at a strip club anyway? Oh wait, it doesn’t matter. Exotic dancers are perfect for any occasion. But am I going to be able to concentrate on my chords?

P.S. The above picture is of Dirty Martini, burlesque dancer extraordinaire. While she was certainly not one of the dancers to pose for the Guitar Hero mocap, she is generally awesome.

MoCap for background strippers!?!?! I knew there’d be some differences now that Neversoft have taken over from Harmonix, but seriously? Why not go and get the guy who modeled the cars in Gran Turismo to make the band van, overhaul the menu into some EA style monstrosity and spend another few million on accurately rendering the grains of the wood used on the stage in the high school level…

GH is about ax jamming, and as much as I am for strippers, I hope Neversoft did all the ax jamming coding first, and then found they had money and time left over, looked at each other and chorused “strippers” when thinking about what to do with the excess.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying I have great amount of faith in the quality of GH3. I’m just saying I’m excited about strippers :).

“I’m excited about strippers :)”. I kind of took that for granted…

Ok, I guess I’ll take it at face value too – the better the strippers, the better place the world is. But if I mess up the solo in Immigrant Song because I’m busy looking at perfectly rendered boobies, erm, I guess I’ll still be happy. Win/Win.

    Are strippers sexy? Sure.

Are strippers appropriate for the wide age demographic that past Guitar Hero games have catered to? Probably not.

When I think of strippers in a video game, all I can think of it BMX XXX, and that game wasn’t appropriate for anyone.

    So true. So true.

In all fairness, I’m not sure that the mocap will actually be used for strippers per se. It seems they might end up more like “go-go dancers.” Which, I suppose, doesn’t say much, but it says something.

Hey I know this is off topic but I was wondering if you knew of
any widgets I could add to my blog that automatically tweet my
newest twitter updates. I’ve been looking for a plug-in like this for quite some time and was hoping maybe you would have some experience with something like this. Please let me know if you run into anything. I truly enjoy reading your blog and I look forward to your new updates.
