You have to commend anyone who can name her blog by proudly splicing three separate words into one (video-game-land). Such is Leigh Alexander, regular here at Heroine Sheik but also rising star in the world of off-center game writing. Leigh’s blog, Sexy Videogameland, is a great place for cool tidbits. Up right now are such goodies as an amazing Bowser bento box, and a whole piece on using little girls in violent/creepy ways in video games (you get so many points for that one, you have no idea). Leigh also recently started up a regular column at Game Set Watch called “The Aberrant Gamer.” The first installment is about raising a virtual daughter as a good little prostitute. Excellent.

In general, I’ve got to say I’m really impressed with the type of coverage Leigh is pumping out. Heroine Sheik readers are definitely advised to check out her stuff!

How weird that I was posting about you probably at the exact same time (or, at least, before I saw this). Thanks so much for the kind words– means a lot coming from you! I’m glad you like Aberrant Gamer. I suspect we actually have our particular predilections quite closely aligned– so closely that I must take care not to be a “Bonnie-Clone.”

Though, if you ever do raise a Clone Army, I’ll be the Dark General. We’ll unleash an army of Lolita Miis and fifteen-year-old High Class Prostitutes on the world.

Oh, yeah, and the blog’s name is actually a Simpsons reference, huge dork that I am. In the episode where Homer and Marge play marriage counselors to a baseball player and his racy-singing wife (voiced by Mandy Moore), she expresses her joy at her reinvigorated marriage by performing a saucy song called “Sexy Marriageland.” The little “Trouble-licious” references on the layout are lyrics from another song from that episode. It was my first idea and I decided not to think too much and just roll with it. I don’t think anybody gets it, but it makes me smile.

Hmm, that sounds like one of those later Simpsons episodes which ran after I lost faith and switched my allegiance to Family Guy. Good to know there’s an origin story, though. Every Dark Genderal needs one :).
