Holidays aren’t just breaks from work; they’re palm-dotted oases of gaming in a sea of otherwise productive life. Bah humbug, and hooray for Memorial Day! Among other things (like graduating college), I’ve spent my holiday weekend playing Odin Sphere, the addictively pretty RPG by Atlus. Expect a review soon. In the meantime, what have you been playing on this beautiful, sticky, game-filled holiday?
P.S. It seems, instead of Heroine Sheik write-up, I’m going to do a big person’s review of Odin Sphere over at the Voice. Now to eat lots of candy (I prefer sugar to uppers) and type type type!

Clubhouse Games was what I played. It’s the only thing that’s been in my DS lately. (I’ve actually been using it to learn to play Koi-Koi, which can only be described as the act of a geek.)

A bunch of stuff, though none of it as much as I would’ve liked. Zelda: Twilight Princess on Wii, which I still haven’t finished. Lots of games on Wii’s Virtual Console - Blazing Lazers is a great shooter, and Actraiser just showed up on there yesterday. The newly released Dungeon Runners is a pretty sweet casual online RPG a la Diablo 2, and Lord of the Rings Online is sitting there wishing I felt more like playing an MMO right now. ;-) Sadly, my DS is in the shop right now (hinge crack and then a stuck pixel), or there would’ve been some DS as well. Annnnnd then it was back to work today. Ah well.

I was inspired by the PC Gamer blog that hit the social news sites a while ago, and bought Galactic Civilizations II.
Still don’t get it, but I have decided that building a spaceship the size of a moon with the ability to change the tidal forces of a planet and drown the inhabitants is all I’ve ever wanted from a video game.

I played Odin Sphere too! I think it’s fantastic. I wrote a review on my blog exploding out my nose over it.
And yes, still on Twilight Princess and Puzzle Quest.

Alas, I too have never finished Twilight Princess. To tell the truth, I barely even got started. Another summer project :).
Looking forward to checking out your review, Leigh!

It occurs to me that the review isn’t clearly titled; if you still wanna read it, it’s here:

I’m still playing this game and freaking love it.
