As always, the IGDA Sex blog knows what’s going on in my publishing-related life far before I do. Apparently, Violet Blue has put up a post “debunking” myths about teledildonics after reading my recent Wired piece where, supposedly, “the writer states these ‘game-related toys’ are ‘teledildonics.’”

Trouble is, no one said that. Not me, or the article. What it says, if you read it closely (”itsy-bitsy” as it may be), is that sex developers are currently working on a type of video game sex toys, called teledildonics, which could be packaged and marketed with games, and which “would allow players to enjoy interactive, physically stimulating sexual encounters online.”

People can be so catty sometimes. Jeezie. And since there’s no way to reply directly to Violet Blue’s post, here I am writing about it on my own blog. Spread the word.

Then again, maybe I’m perpetuating cattiness by just responding. Oh bother…

Sex, and I, are proud to be back at The Escapist, with a short piece called “After Sex,” all about the questionable future of MMOEG’s. Once sex is a given, what will grow up in the social cracks? Economy? Politics? Or just more sex? And, speaking of sex, is that our basic function? Or are we up to something more primal still when we try to interact with other people?
